Thirty Ate at Grand Daddy

Thirty Ate at Grand Daddy

We arrived for dinner at ‘Thirty Ate’, sat down by the window and took a look around at the statement copper decor, warm lighting, and clean finishes before picking up our menus.

I have to admit I wasn’t expecting much more than an average meal but I was blown away! We both were!

Crumbed Haloumi on grilled Aubergine and topped with basil pesto… It was delicious. It was so good that even Ryan (who I had to actually convince to even try it) loved it!

Not chewy at all, just juicy and delicious.

Perfectly cooked, tender and succulent, and the sauce was buttery and incredible! I highly recommend them!

Ryan ordered the Ostrich Fillet, after some convincing by the waiter, having had a few bad Ostrich meals in the past. I got the Big Daddy Burger and we ordered some Jalapeno Poppers on the side.

Ryan’s medium rare Ostrich fillet came with creamy mash, glazed carrots and pepper sauce. It was juicy, not even slightly dry or tough, just absolute perfection. Complimented by the pepper sauce, this dish is not to be missed! It was so good that when our new friends from Texas asked what they should have for dinner, we told them to get down to Thirty Ate immediately and come have the Fillet. They did, and they loved it too!

Tasty, cheesy and just the right amount of heat. Fantastic!

Sounds great right? Well, it is. It is so good that I wish I was eating it right now… Perhaps they should consider a delivery service.

Turns out it’s not that hard when the dessert is really good… The sorbet was refreshing and tasty, and the brownie was just the right mix of cake, gooey chocolate and nuts.
