Where are you based?
I live in Cape Town – South Africa, but I do online Coaching Sessions with clients from all over South Africa and Internationally.
How often do we meet?
Usually I meet with clients once a week, or fortnightly. Meeting once a week offers time for reflection and application of learning between sessions, while maintaining the momentum of our work together. Fortnightly is best when the work between sessions requires more time for reflection and learning.
How long do I need to do coaching for?
That’s quite a broad question because every person / situation is different.
Generally coaching lasts for minimum of 2-3 months, often 6 months is a good amount of time to ensure the client has seen a real change in their circumstances, and will be able to implement and sustain the techniques they’ve been taught.
Some clients see me regularly for a few months and then when they are ready we switch to a monthly (or fortnightly) accountability and/or check in session to keep them on track.
What happens in the first coaching session?
It’s an explorative coaching session were we figure out your wants and needs; see where you are now and where you want to be; and then we start laying a foundation on which to build your better life.
What about confidentiality?
I have the utmost respect for your privacy and understand the value of your trust. What happens in our sessions stays in our sessions.
How long is a typical coaching session?
Sessions are typically 50 minutes but as my focus is on the result I won’t abruptly end a session. My aim is to always leave you feeling good and with a sense of purpose and clarity.
What if I want to stop our coaching sessions?
You can terminate coaching at any time, although it is helpful for me to have a week’s notice in order to prepare a final session to focus on review and closure. But that decision is up to you.
What is the free discovery call?
The discovery call is a free 15 minute zoom video (or audio if you prefer) call to establish what you want to get out of our sessions together, and also to make sure we are a good match.
What methods do you use?
Dependant on the needs of the client, the type of coaching (or counselling) required, the issue at hand, and the circumstance surrounding said issue, I would then decide on which method/s to use. These methods can vary from simple to fairly complicated. Below is a simplified list of these:
– The GROW Model/Process
– NLP (Neuro Linguistic Programming)
– CBT (Cognitive Behavioural Therapy)
– Mindfulness, Critical Thinking, and Resilience Techniques.
